Reports To: Warehouse and Purchasing Manager (WPM)
Work Hours: 6:00AM – 5:00PM M-TH, (30) minutes lunch allowed, 6:30AM – 12:00PM F, no lunch allowed. (Approximately 45.5 net hours per week.) This schedule is based upon a (4) day workweek for the Commercial crews. Schedule may alter slightly if crews go to a (5) day workweek.


  • Assist WPM in management of all incoming and outgoing material / equipment though warehouse, vendor deliveries or pickups, job deliveries, job returns, etc
  • Assist WPM in maintaining all standard inventory at required levels
  • Assist WPM in maintaining a neat and clean warehouse facility and yard
  • Assist WPM in maintaining all department vehicles in good working condition
  • Assist WPM in maintaining all necessary tools used in field and warehouse at required levels and in good working condition
  • Assist WPM in coordinating all requested rental equipment, lifts, trailers, etc


  • Assist WPM to inspect all department vehicles and tools on a normal basis for wear and tear.
  • Be aware of OSHA safety requirements and enforce in all areas
  • Participate in warehouse inventories as required, monthly, quarterly, and yearly
  • Participate in weekly spot checks of inventory as required to determine amounts needed for replenishment orders
  • Provide hands-on movement of all materials in warehouse, incoming and outgoing deliveries, loading and unloading vehicles, etc. Excellent forklift skills and forklift license are mandatory
  • Deliver materials to projects when necessary
  • Assist in all necessary jobs associated with the warehouse including trash pickup, unloading and discarding trash returned from ongoing projects, cleaning the yard, mowing grass, etc
  • Properly label and identify all incoming material by project
  • Current NC driving license and clean driving record is mandatory
  • Comply with systems for monitoring all material brought into warehouse for inventory purposes
  • Comply with systems for monitoring all material removed from warehouse for inventory and job costing purposes
  • Comply with systems for scheduling and tracking all incoming material / equipment deliveries, checking packing slips against material receipts, forwarding packing slips to accounting for reconciling with invoices, entering on Ordered Materials / Equipment Sheet, etc
  • Comply with system for scheduling and tracking all daily outgoing job deliveries
  • Comply with system for tracking and maintaining all specialized tools / equipment checked out to field personnel
  • Behave courteously and interact with co-workers in a respectful manner


  • All candidates for this position should be reasonably physically fit and capable of picking up a 50 lb. tool, piece of equipment or piece of material and moving it about either on a jobsite, at a vendor, our warehouse, etc
  • All warehouse personnel typically load and unload materials for transportation to jobsites. This may involve movement in carrying a load in tight and difficult situations and on uneven terrain if assistance is needed to unload the material at the jobsite
  • Environmental conditions may range from outdoors at all times of the year to indoors at normal office conditions to indoor tempered warehouse areas
