Robert is the son of Newcomb and Company founder, Charles A. “Bo” Newcomb. He began his career at Newcomb and Company after graduating from Hampden-Sydney College in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in managerial economics. He worked as a purchasing manager, sales engineer and general manager before becoming President in 1991. He took the helm as Chairman of Newcomb and Company in 2000.
Robert is an active and engaged president who supervises the executive management of Newcomb and Company. He focuses his work on casting the vision of the company and leading its annual corporate strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts. He is passionate about having a company that truly values its employees, offers exceptional products and service to its customers and is also actively involved in and supportive of its community. Robert serves on the board of directors for several community organizations and is also an active member and elder of White Memorial Presbyterian Church.
